Jurors in Pascarella Murder Trial Continue Deliberations

KINGSTON, N.Y. -- The jury in the murder trial of Nicholas Pascarella Jr. completed a fourth day of deliberations Thursday without reaching a verdict, according to twcnews.com.

Pascarella has been charged with beating his father to death with a baseball bat, according to twcnews.com. The jury members were apparently deadlocked Wednesday before the judge ordered them to continue with deliberations, according to twcnews.com.

Pascarella's attorneys say their client was emotionally disturbed after learning his father had abused another family member, according to twcnews.com, which added that Pascarella claims to have had flashbacks to his own abuse at the hands of his father.

Prosecutors believe the murder was premeditated, according to twcnews.com.

Pascarella faces counts of second-degree murder and first-degree manslaughter, according to twcnews.com.

Jurors are expected to continue deliberations at 10 a.m. Friday, twcnews.com reported.
