Hyde Park Resident, Police Come To Aid Of Injured Hawk

HYDE PARK, N.Y. -- A local resident and the Hyde Park Police Department swooped into action Sunday morning to rescue an injured hawk.

The incident occurred in the area of Route 9G and Hidden Brook Estates, police said.

A resident from the neighborhood stopped and managed to get the bird into a cage before an officer arrived and took the hawk back to the station where Friends of the Feathered and Furry Wildlife Center came to pick it up.
