HYDE PARK, N.Y. -- According to the Dutchess County Water and Wastewater Authority, the water distribution system in the Pinebrook service area in the Town of Hyde Park will be flushed Thursday, reported the Poughkeepsie Journal.
Flushing of the water mains will take place between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. During this time, Pinebrook water customers should expect turbidity and discoloration of water.
Customers are advised to not run water for two to three hours after the flushing and to avoid washing clothing during this time, said the Poughkeepsie Journal.
Flushing of the distribution system is done periodically to improve conditions within the pipes, said the Poughkeepsie Journal.
