Dutchess Murder Victims Remembered At Annual Ceremony

NORTHWEST DUTCHESS, N.Y. -- Family Services recently held its annual Remembrance for Murder Victims ceremony honoring the memory of the 160 murdered this year in Dutchess County.

During the ceremony at the Mid Hudson Children’s Museum Pavilion, victims' families and friends placed white ribbons with their loved ones’ names or posted photographs. All of the victims names were read aloud during the event.

The white ribbons danced in the breeze overlooking the Hudson River as County Executive Marc Molinaro offered his message to the victims' families and friends: “We cannot comprehend the pain you feel for the loss you have endured, but please know that we are a community and we love you and we hope that provides you some comfort.”
