Central Hudson Employees Bring Thanksgiving To Dutchess Families

DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- Employees of Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corp. donated food and grocery gift cards as part of their annual Thanksgiving food drive to benefit local families in need.

This longstanding effort - 35th year - provided five families through Dutchess Outreach with food and grocery gift cards, a company spokesperson said.

Dutchess Outreach provides meals, coordinates medical needs, distributes winter coats and offers advocacy for individuals and families in and around Poughkeepsie.

The effort marked November's National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Month.

Central Hudson has pledged to provide 55,000 meals to the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley when customers enroll in its electronic billing program.
