WOODSTOCK, N.Y. -- It was a weekend of peace, love and literature and now, the 2016 Woodstock Book Fest is just a memory, according to Time Warner Cable News.

They didn't break through fences or walk along the New York State Thruway, but about 1,000 people did attend the three-day festival, which began Thursday night and ended Sunday morning, according to Time Warner.

Several authors and musicians were on hand to move the event along, Time Warner reported.

Organizers plan to bring the festival back in April 2017, according to Time Warner.
