ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. -- A play written by Jeremy Davidson and directed by Mary Stuart Masterson which highlights the lives of Hudson Vally farmers will be presented Sunday afternoon, Oct. 2 at the Richard B. Fisher Center for the Performing Arts, Bard College, Annandale-On-Hudson, N.Y.

Live Arts Bard will present this Storyhorse Documentary Theater - the theater is in Tivoli - play, "Good Dirt" in collaboration with the National Young Farmers Coalition.

"Good Dirt" is a multimedia performance based on interviews with six farm families, illustrating the fragility of our agricultural heritage and the need for engagement and investment in its present and future, said a release.

A discussion with the farmers portrayed on stage will follow the performance.

The farms in this piece include the Hudson Valley Seed Library (Accord), Denison Farm (Schaghticoke), Green Goats (Red Hook), Soul Fire Farm (Grafton), Tello’s Green Farm (Coxsackie), and Northwind Farms (Tivoli).

The play will be presented at 3 p.m. at the center, Bard College, 60 Manor Ave, Annandale-On-Hudson, N.Y.

Tickets are $15-$20, $5 for students with ID. A community picnic on the Sosnoff lawn will follow. It is suggested to bring a blanket and picnic. Locally sourced offerings will be available to purchase.
