FDR Site In Hyde Park Sets President's Day Events

HYDE PARK, N.Y. -- The Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum in Hyde Park will host an afternoon of free Presidents Day events this weekend.

Sue Reich, author of “Quilts Presidential and Patriotic,” will speak and sign her book starting at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb.13 at the Henry A. Wallace Center at the historic site. She will make a presentation on quilts belonging to every president from Washington to Obama.

On display will be dozens of small quilts, representing each of the presidents.

Then, from 3-5 p.m., also on Saturday, Feb. 13, in the library’s research room, visitors can views presidential autographs from the its archives -- many from FDR's personal collection.

Among the autographs are those of: John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Martin Van Buren, Andrew Jackson, Teddy Roosevelt, Harry Truman and John F. Kennedy.
