The project, which is expected to create substantial traffic delays, will take place on Route 12 - also known as Bedford-Banksville/Greenwich Road -  between Old Post Road (Route 22) and Millbrook Road, according to a statement from Bedford police.

Citing the Westchester County of Public Works, police said crews in the area are expected to be milling and paving the road while making a number of improvements in the area.

While drivers are urged to consider using alternative routes, those who do travel in the area should expect delays and mind the flag persons controlling traffic, according to police.

The crews are expected to work from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. through May 10, police said.
