NORTH SALEM, N.Y. The current list of college-bound 2012 North Salem High School graduates includes acceptances to Brown, New York University, Columbia, Cornell, Tufts, Duke and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and many other excellent institutions.
Graduates will be heading as far away as California, Louisiana, Arizona and Montreal. More than 15 percent of the class plans to attend SUNY colleges.
There has been a trend in the last five years for more kids to go to the SUNY colleges, said North Salem High School Guidance Counselor, Grace Carnevali. Theres more interest in the CUNY colleges as well. And more wait-listed seniors are getting into their first preference colleges.
