KATONAH, N.Y. -- Members of North Salem High School's Class of 2016 were feted with praise and honored at their commencement on Monday.
The evening commencement, which was held at Caramoor Center For Music and the Arts in Katonah, is the high school's 54th.
In her remarks, High School Principal Patricia Cyganovich praised the graduates. At one point, the principal likened this year's class to Popeye because of his confidence-exuding motto, "I am what I am, and that's all that I am."
Carolyn Diamond served as this year's salutatorian, while Catherine Budd served as the valedictorian.
A ceremony was also held to honor scholarship and award recipients, who were called on one by one.
