Katonah-Lewisboro Residents Seek To Re-Open Gym At Closed School

The petition comes just days after the Katonah-Lewisboro School Board and the Lewisboro Town Board approved a 4-year lease that will allow for the town to use roughly 20 percent of LES for its police station, court and land-use departments.

The agreement that does include reuse of the gym.

"All recreation programs run by the town are open to district and town residents. We believe this to be the best use of the space and the best way the district can serve its students," the petition states.

The school district closed LES in 2014 due to falling enrollment in younger grade levels. Students from LES were rezoned for other elementary schools in the district.
