Two Teens Seriously Injured In Head-On Crash With Bus In Westchester

Two teens are recovering from serious injuries following a head-on crash with a Westchester County Bee-Line bus on Route 141 in Hawthorne.

The crash took place around 1:14 p.m., Tuesday, June 18, when a 2003 Toyota occupied by a 16-year-old male driver and a 16-year-old female passenger, was traveling northbound on Route 141 (Broadway) near Brighton Avenue when he lost control of the vehicle, crossed the double yellow line and struck a Westchester County Bee-Line bus head-on, said Mount Pleasant Police Capt. Michael Pierce.

Pierce said both the driver and passenger sustained serious injuries and were transported to Westchester Medical Center. 

Three occupants of the bus sustained minor injuries and were transported to Phelps Memorial Hospital, he added.

 Mount Pleasant Police detectives are currently conducting an investigation with the assistance of the Westchester County Accident Investigation Unit. 

 Hawthorne Fire Department, Hawthorne Ambulance, Pleasantville Ambulance, Valhalla Ambulance, and Westchester EMS were all involved in the treatment and transport of the injured, Pierce said.
