Members of the Narcotics Enforcement Unit on patrol in Mahopac stopped Shrub Oak resident Jay Seton, 36, when he was spotted making a traffic violation, prompting a police stop, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office reported on Friday, Sept. 13.

During the stop, it was determined that Seton had a suspended driver’s license, and his passenger, Steven Vukaj, 32, was in possession of alleged heroin.

Seton was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor. Vukaj was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance. Both men were processed and released. Each is scheduled to appear in the Town of Carmel Justice Court at a later date to respond to the charges.
