Berkely Houston Grey Jr., 86, Former North Salem Resident

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. -- Former North Salem resident Berkely Houston Grey, Jr. died in his home on Wednesday, April 30. He was 86.

Grey was born to theBerkely and Mary Grey, on May 1, 1927, in Mount Kisco. He graduated from Purdys High School in 1945 and served in the Marine Corps during World War II. 

Grey presided over the family store, Grey’s Quality Market in Purdy’s New York, before embarking on a successful career as Sales Manager at Brewster Ford and Brady Stannard before relocating with his wife, Joyce to Englewood, Fla. in 1989. The two ultimately relocated to Haddam, Conn. in 2010.

Grey is survived by his wife, Joyce and two children: Suzanne Grey of Old Saybrook, Conn.; Randy Grey and wife Lori of San Francisco, Calif. He is also survived by two grandchildren Elliot and Haley; his sister Olive Kelly of Yardley, Pa. and nieces Pam and Ginny.
