NORTH SALEM, N.Y. -- Here are some of the stories that topped the news in North Salem this week:
- Thirteen Westchester County veterans were announced as inductees into the 40th Senate District's Veterans Hall of Fame by State Sen. Greg Ball, chairman of the Senate Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs Committee.
- A 43-year-old man was hit by a Metro-North train and killed just south of the Hartsdale train station in an apparent suicide, according to Metro-North Railroad spokeswoman Marjorie Anders
- Police are searching for a suspect who may be armed and who fled on foot after he struck a police car following a chase near the Westchester County Airport.
- The cause of death of a 60-year-old Somers man, Frank L. Katz, who was found collapsed on the side of Route 100 in Somers early Monday morning, is being further investigated.
