Two gang members from Westchester will spend time behind bars after being convicted on assault and weapons charges for repeatedly stabbing a man following a verbal confrontation in Mount Vernon.

Joseph Ogilvie and Tremaine Gordon, both 27 and from Mount Vernon, have been sentenced to 10 years in prison, followed by five years post-release supervision following their convictions earlier this year.

Each has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for attempted assault; five years in prison for assault and one year in prison for criminal possession of a weapon. The sentences will run concurrently.

Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr. said that at approximately 3 a.m. on April 28, 2016, the two men were involved in an argument with a third near the intersection of Gramatan and West Sidney avenues in Mount Vernon.

At the time of the incident, the two were involved in a verbal argument on the sidewalk. When their victim entered a vehicle and attempted to leave the area, Ogilvie and Gordon approached him and stabbed him multiple times. Their victim was able to flee and was later found injured in the Bronx by NYPD officers. He was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center for treatment on his stab wounds.

Scarpino noted that both men are members of the Mount Vernon “Get Money Gangstas” (GMG) gang, though they’ve also referred to themselves as the “Hunnit Hustle Gang.”
