The Week Ahead in North Salem

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. -- Following is a list of events coming up this week in North Salem:

Monday

NORTH SALEM HIGH SCHOOL: The Spring Athletic Open House starts at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. After the opening program, parents and students will meet with the appropriate athletic coach. If you cannot attend, contact the Director of Athletics at 914-669-5414, ext. 2039.

Tuesday

PQ SCHOOL: The winter book fair is under way. Class visits are scheduled for 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The PTO will meet at 9 a.m.

NORTH SALEM TOWN HALL: The town board will meet in the annex, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Wednesday

RUTH KEELER LIBRARY: The Writers’ Workshop, under the guidance of Pam Pooley, will meet from 11 a.m. to noon. Anyone interested in writing is invited to drop in.

MIDDLE/HIGH SCHOOL LIBRARY: The board of education will meet from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

PQ SCHOOL: It's Movie Night at PQ and the film is “Muppet Treasure Island.” The show starts at 6:45 p.m. Tickets are $5 for the movie, a drink and popcorn, $3 for just the movie. Tickets are on sale at the PQ Book Fair on Tuesday and Wednesday and at the door on Wednesday evening.

The book fair continues during the day. Class visits are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Thursday

RUTH KEELER LIBRARY: The Daytime Knitting Group gets together from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Bring your current project or try something new with fellow crafters. Drop-ins are welcome.

NORTH SALEM COMMUNITY CENTER: The North Salem Lions Club will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, starting at 7 p.m.

PQ SCHOOL: The book fair continues from noon to 9 p.m. A scavenger hunt will reward winners with chocolate coins.

SCHOOLHOUSE THEATER: The curtain goes up at 8 p.m. for JP Miller’s "The Days of Wine and Roses,” the third in this year’s series of dramatic performances.
