Prior to April, every month this year had seen global temperatures reach new record highs making April the seventh consecutive record-breaking month. Additionally, April is the third month in a row to surpass its previous highest temperatures by the largest margin in history, The Huffington Post stated.

Experts predict that this year will be the hottest year ever recorded, exceeding the previous record year, 2015. British atmospheric scientist, Andy Pitman says the rate that the Earth is heating could make reaching the goal of the Paris Agreement to limit the global temperature increase to 1.5 degrees celsius nearly impossible, The Huffington post reported.
