Oktoberfest: 6 to 10 p.m. It’s a customer appreciation party on the patio at Croton Creek Steakhouse, with complimentary beer, wine, food and music. The steakhouse is at 4 West Cross St., Croton Falls.

North Salem Planning Board: 7:30 p.m. The board will meet in the annex at Town Hall, 274 Titicus Road, North Salem.

Thursday, Sept. 20

Little Farmers: 10 to 11 a.m. or 1 to 2 p.m. Children ages 3 and 4 are invited to learn about Muscoot Farm’s animals through a hands-on experience. A different animal will be featured each week. Registration is required. The fee is $10 per child. To register, click here.

Thursday Book Discussion: 7:30 p.m. Local resident John Steele Gordon will discuss his book, “An Empire of Wealth: The Epic History of American Economic Power,” in this first of four Thursday evening book discussions. There is no charge. Ruth Keeler Memorial Library, 276 Titicus Road, North Salem.
