NORTH SALEM, N.Y. – Here are some events planned in the Pound Ridge, Lewisboro and North Salem area this weekend.

Friday, May 3

"Dear Governor Cuomo:" 7 p.m. A screening of writer/director Jon Bowermaster’s documentary about fracking in New York State is sponsored by the Lewisboro Sustainability Committee and EnergizeNY. The suggested donation is $5 per person. Register by calling the Lewisboro Library (914) 763-3857 or go to lewisborolibrary@gmail.com. The library is located at 15 Main St. in South Salem.

Relay For Life Benefit Concert: 7 p.m. More than ten student acts including a cappella singers, dancers, and jazz musicians, will raise funds for Lewisboro’s forthcoming Relay For Life. Tickets are $5 for students, $10 for non-students. It’s at John Jay High School, 60 North Salem Road, South Salem.

Saturday, May 4

Trevor Corde Memorial Lacrosse Games: 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. This is an all-day event showcasing seven of the North Salem Girls and Boys Lacrosse programs for students in grades three through 12. Concession stands will sell food, drinks, snacks and commemorative tee shirts and hats. Proceeds from the event will go to the Trevor Corde Memorial Scholarship Fund. It’s at North Salem High School’s Tompkins Field on June Road, North Salem.

Evening Howl for Pups of All Ages: 6:30 p.m. Bring the family to visit the wolves at dusk, their favorite time of day. Say hi to ambassador wolves Atka, Alawa and Zephyr and learn about wolf mythology. Don’t forget your camera. Admittance is $13 for adults, $11 for children under 12. Pre-registration is required. The Wolf Conservation Center is at 7 Buck Run St., South Salem.

Warbler Walk: 8 a.m. Take a walk with a naturalist from the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation and meet some of the area’s colorful songbirds. There is no charge. For more information, call (914) 864-7322. The hike begins at the Nature Museum of the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, near the intersection of Routes 121 and 35 in Cross River.

Nature’s Wildflower Garden: 1 p.m. Take a walk through the Luquer-Marble garden at the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation while it is in the height of its bloom. There is no charge for the event, which begins at the Nature Museum of the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, near the intersection of Routes 121 and 35 in Cross River. Extreme Draw On: 1 to 3:30 p.m. Ridgefield’s Aldrich Museum is sending artist Sally Aldrich to North Salem to conduct a class in the museum’s annual Extreme Draw On! series. Bring sketch pads, pencils, inks and charcoal to capture the first signs of spring in the Hammond Museum's Japanese Stroll Garden. Pound Ridge Wine Tasting: 2 to 6 p.m. Pound Ridge Wines & Spirits is holding its 3rd annual Spring wine tasting with samples of over 50 wines offered at discounted prices. The shop is at 71 Westchester Avenue, Pound Ridge.

Sunday, May 5

Vista Boy Scout Troop 101 Dumpster Day: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dispose of unwanted items and help support your local boy scouts. The cost is $40 per car load, $50-$60 per SUV. Call (914) 760-8747 to make arrangements. The Vista Firehouse is on Route 123 in South Salem.

Blessing of the Animals: 3 p.m. (doors open at 2:30 p.m.) A group of clergy of various faiths will be on hand to bless your dog, cat, horse, gerbil, fish, bird, turtle or whatever. Please use a leash or crate. Admission is free but donations are gratefully accepted. This is the 48th year of the Interfaith Animal Blessing at the Hammond Museum, 28 Deveau Road, North Salem.
