Monday, Dec. 31 - New Year’s Eve
Ring In The New Year: The following local restaurants are open on New Year's Eve: Croton Creek Steakhouse, Primavera, Purdy's Farmer & the Fish, 121 Restaurant and Vox.
Tuesday, Jan. 1 - New Year’s Day 2013
North Salem Schools: Schools are closed Tuesday and reopen Wednesday.
Ruth Keeler Memorial Library: The library is closed Tuesday and reopens Wednesday.
North Salem Town Offices: Town offices are closed Tuesday and reopen Wednesday.
Wednesday, Jan. 2
Lottery for Young Farmers and Muscoot Wranglers: Beginning Wednesday and continuing every weekday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and weekends from noon to 4 p.m., you can stop by Muscoot Farm to obtain a lottery ticket for attendance at Muscoot’s 2013 summer Young Farmers Camp and Muscoot Wranglers program. Young Farmers is intended for children entering grades one through eight. Wranglers is for children ages 4 and 5. For more information on the Young Farmers Camp, download a registration form. Muscoot Farm is on Route 100, 1½ miles south of Route 35 in Somers.
Writers’ Workshop: 11 a.m. to noon. Professionals and hopefuls will discuss their work under the guidance of professional writer, Pam Pooley. Anyone interested in writing is invited to drop in. It’s at the Ruth Keeler Memorial Library, 276 Titicus Road, North Salem.
North Salem Planning Board: The regular meeting is canceled. The board will meet Jan. 16 for a combined regular meeting and work session.
Thursday, Jan. 3
Bagels & Books: 10:30 a.m. The group will discuss Jamie Ford’s “Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet.” Everyone is welcome to stop by. It’s at the Ruth Keeler Memorial Library, 276 Titicus Road, North Salem.
