More than a dozen artists in Ossining and Briarcliff joined over 700 cities around the world in an international celebration of song.

“Our goal is to build up Westchester with the spirit of music and to bring music into the lives of all who live here,” said Mike Risko of Ossining, who launched the event.

Musicians used participating shops for pop-up concert venues and other activities. Organizers thanked Shine Salon, Wobble Cafe, Club Fit, The Boathouse, Mike Risko Music, Gyro Uno, Ossining Mayor Victoria Gearity and Village Hall, OUSFD, Hot Societe and 6 Degrees of Separation.

Launched in 1982 in France, Make Music Day is open to anyone who wants to take part. It's intended to be free, open to the public and pour onto streets, parks, plazas, and porches.

Make Music Day Ossining-Briarcliff is already planning for Make Music Day 2017 and will use its Facebook page for regular updates.
