Cops Play NFL/NBA Alumni In Basketball Game For Vets At North Rockland

HAVERSTRAW, N.Y. -- Local police and professional athletes took to the courts at North Rockland High School to raise money for wounded soldiers, according to FiOS1 News.

Prior to the game, a flag was presented to the mother of Manny Lopez, a 2005 North Rockland High School graduate who was killed in Iraq by a rocket grenade, according to FiOS1 News.

The police won in overtime against retired NFL and NBA players, which included former New York Giants wide receiver Stephen Baker, according to FiOS1 News.

The basketball game raises money for "Wings For Warriors," an organization helping provide healthcare for soldiers wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to FiOS1 News.
