ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- Two teens were caught by Stony Point police on Thursday after stealing beer from a 7-Eleven Store on Route 9W, and then running from the scene, according to Stony Point Police.
James Marino, 17, of Milford Pa., and another juvenile, were caught about 3:30 a.m., after store employees reported the theft, said Lt. Daniel Hylas.
Patrol officers attempted to stop the two on the James Farley Bridge, but both got away and continued running, Hylas said.
They were caught a short time late and identified as the suspects who stole the beer. Both were arrested and processed at the station, he added.
The juvenile was released to the custody of his parents. While being processed, Marino intentionally damaged a table in the processing area. In addition to being charged with petit larceny for the beer, he was also charged with criminal mischief, Hylas said.
Marino was processed and released on $1,500 bail.
