Owner Punched After Accusing Women Of Shoplifting At Long Island Store

Two women are at large after stealing merchandise from a beauty supply store on Long Island and then becoming combative with the owner, police say.

Police are on the lookout for two women suspected of stealing a series of beauty products from Ebony Beauty Supply in Freeport (171 W. Merrick Road) on Sunday, Oct. 13 around 3:15 p.m.

Nassau County Police are on the lookout for two women, pictured above, who are suspected of stealing a series of beauty products from Ebony Beauty Supply in Freeport (171 W. Merrick Road) on Sunday, Oct. 13 around 3:15 p.m.

Police say the store owner recognized one of the suspects from a prior shoplifting incident. When the owner observed the woman taking items off the shelf and trying to leave the store without paying, they confronted her and asked to see her bag, according to police. In response, one of the suspects allegedly became enraged and punched the owner in the face.

The women then fled in a silver or gray vehicle that was parked in front of the business, police say.
