Bird's The Word: Police Rescue Injured Hawk In New City Clarkstown Police came to the aid Wednesday of an injured hawk instead of a local resident in need after receiving a call regarding a bird in distress. The hawk. who was sitting on Phillips Hill Road in New City, was rescued by Officer Robert McDermott and animal control Officer Patricia Coleman and taken to the Valley Cottage Animal Hospital. McCune, on Monday, Oct. 16.  A dedication and christening of the new boat will begin at 11 a.m. at Haverstraw Bay Park, 21 Gagan Road. McCune, a longtime officer with the department, died on Sept. 12, 2016, at the age of 56.  The 35-year-member of the department began his career as a corrections officer in 1981 and later moved to the department's Patrol Division as a patrol officer in 1984. Picture This: Good Samaritan Discovers Lost Digital Camera In Rockland ROCKLAND COUNTY N.Y. - Police are asking the public’s help in reuniting a digital camera with its owner after it was turned over to officers by a Good Samaritan in Ramapo. The camera was found in Sloatsburg on Thursday, Sept. 21, which was turned over to members of the Ramapo Police Department. On Monday, police released two photos from the camera depicting a fisherman and his catch and a brown dog.
