The incident occurred in Orange County around 11:30 p.m., Monday, May 13, in the area of 33 Hasbrouck St., in the city of Newburgh. According to Mike Neppl, spokesman for the city of Newburgh, officers responded and found two victims: a Rock Tavern resident, a hamlet of New Windsor, dead from a gunshot wound, and a 20-year-old resident of New Windsor in critical condition. According to Newburgh Police, the man pressed an unknown black object into the back of the cashier and demanded cash and Newport cigarettes.
