Man Nabbed With Loaded Handgun, Illegal Drugs After Warrant Search Executed In Area

A Hudson Valley man has been arrested for alleged criminal possession of controlled substances and a loaded handgun following a warrant search at his home.

The warrant was executed in Dutchess County in the city of Poughkeepsie on Friday, May 6.

Following an investigation, Luis A. Martinez, age unknown, of the city of Poughkeepsie, was arrested following the search in which a number of illegal drugs and a loaded handgun were found, according to Det. Sgt. Adam Harris, of the Dutchess County Drug Task Force.

He was charged with criminal possession of controlled substances with intent to sell and criminal possession of a weapon, Harris said.

He was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail, Harris added.
