MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. – Prosecutors believe a former police officer and Mount Hope man who was roped into a drug trafficking scheme killed four Middletown man over stolen money, according to the Times Herald-Record.
Court documents presented by the prosecution allege Nicholas Tartaglione and his conspirators lured Martin Luna to the Likquid Lounge in Chester under false pretenses in an effort to recover their stolen money. Luna arrived at the bar with his two nephews and a friend. Prosecutors say Luna was killed at the bar on April 11, 2016 while Tartaglione was present. Tartaglione’s lawyer had requested full disclosure of the prosecution's documents in an effort to avoid the death penalty for his client, the Record said.
