Monroe Woman Raises $49K For Brother Whose Wife Died Birthing Twins
MONROE, N.Y. — A Monroe woman had raised more than $49,000 as of Wednesday evening on a GoFundMe for her brother, who was left caring for his twin nieces, 5-year-old daughter and two step-children after his wife died of an amniotic fluid embolism last week. Lucelenia Pimentel has been commuting from Monroe to Dumont, N.J., to aid her brother, Victor Roman. This Middletown Pet Rescuer Has Saved 13,000 Dogs Since 2015
MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. — Every week, Steve Quilliam of Middletown's Grateful Doggies drives a minibus 900 miles to Georgia to pick up dogs who are being housed in kill shelters. Quilliam loads 40 or 50 mutts into his bus and places them in veterinaries and foster homes en route to New York.
