Long Island Expressway Stretch, Sagtikos Parkway Reopen

A stretch of the Long Island Expressway has reopened in both directions after police activity caused its closure.

The LIE was closed at Exit 53 for police activity, Suffolk County Police announced just after 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21.

The Sagtikos Parkway was closed in both directions at the LIE.

At 10:30 a.m., police announced both roadways reopened.
