NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - Smoke could be seen for several blocks in New Rochelle as firefighters battled a two-alarm blaze at a home downtown.
Fire crews were dispatched to a 4th Street home at approximately 9 a.m. on Tuesday morning following reports of a fire that tore through the residence, leaving the side of the home exposed.
Firefighters were at the scene for approximately an hour before it was reportedly knocked down. Secondary searches for flare-ups and hot spots began shortly before 10 a.m. No injuries were immediately reported. The upper floor of the two and a half story home sustained heavy smoke, fire and water damage before the flames could be extinguished.
