Harold Auerbach, 94, Of New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. - Harold Auerbach of New Rochelle died Sept. 28. He was 94.

Auerbach was born June 29, 1920, in Poland, to Ida and Eliezer Auerbach. He came to the United States in 1938 and served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945 in New Guinea and the Philippines. He owned a commercial air conditioning business from 1951 until his retirement in 2004. He was on the board of AMIC of Westchester. He was a longtime member of the board of Opengate Inc. serving as chairman for several years.

Auerbach is survived by his wife, Shirley; sons, Eric and Marc; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and sister, Helen.
