Florence B. Vietro, 100, Of New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Florence B. Vietro, 100, a lifelong resident of New Rochelle, died Friday, Feb. 27.

A worldwide traveler, Vietro often stated how much she loved New Rochelle. A devout Catholic, she was a lifelong parishioner of St. Joseph's Church. Second to her religious beliefs was always her belief in family. She was "Aunt Flo" to four generations of nieces and nephews as well as their friends. Vietro's employment included working in the original Woolworth's on Main Street, Fort Slocum, Sanborn Map Co. and New Rochelle Hospital.

She was predeceased by her parents, Nicolo and Lucia (Nee Sansone); three brothers; three sisters; as well as her nephew Ralph (Irene) Parente and niece Sarah (Charles) Young.

She is survived by her, niece Catherine (John) Corrado; two nephews; and multiple generations of the Vietro, Parente and Young families.

Visiting hours will take place Tuesday, March 3, from 2-4 and  7-9 p.m. at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Place, New Rochelle. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 4, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to  St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
