Truck Slams Into Pole, Knocking Out Power In New Rochelle

Some New Rochelle residents were temporarily left without power when a truck struck a utility pole in Westchester.

A truck driver struck a utility pole in New Rochelle near 94 Lockwood Avenue at approximately 11:50 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21, police said. After striking the pole, power lines were taken down, causing a temporary power outage in the immediate area, which is near Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital.

Crews went quickly to work to restore power in the area, though police said the hospital wasn't impacted. As of 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21, just one Con Edison customer was still reporting an outage, with complete restoration expected no later than 3 p.m.
