BRIARCLIFF MANOR, N.Y. -- The SPCA of Westchester was able to rescue 23 cats and kittens from Hurricanes Harvey and Irene.
The cats were transported to its Briarcliff location last week after shelters in Texas and Florida had to make room for the overwhelming amount of lost and displaced animals. Thirteen cats came from Texas, while 10 came from Florida.
"We're honored to lend a small hand in making lives better for these cats and kittens who desperately needed a safe haven and second chance," said the SPCA's Executive Director Shannon Laukhuf.
