The city’s state of emergency continued as Con Edison worked to restore power to two-thirds of the community, the city said. The city was also in the process of removing fallen trees and branches that blocked streets. Hudson Park and Glen Island Park were also closed to traffic. Flooding at the city's marina had gone down, officials said.
Residents were urged to use caution while traveling and to stay away from downed wires, live or not.
Residents needing shelter can use the Red Cross Emergency Shelter at Albert Leonard Middle School, 25 Gerada Lane.
Residents can also call Con Edison directly to report all outages at (800) 75-CONED. The company will provide dry ice but has not started distribution.
Residents can report downed trees to 914-740-6118. The city is providing a list of reminders to help residents in the storm’s aftermath:
- Recycling pick-up resumes Wednesday.
- Garbage will be picked up Thursday and Friday.
- Alternate Side enforcement is suspended for the rest of the week.
- Residents with non-emergency issues related to the storm can call 914-654-2300, or 2-1-1.
- Residents can also continue to check the city’s website, Facebook page, Twitter feed, television station NRTV channel 75, FIOS Channel 28, and automated phone and e-mail messages when necessary for updates about progress in the storm’s aftermath.
- Residents can subscribe to receive these emergency alerts directly through the city’s website.
