A woman and her son were in the house on Bon Air Avenue when the lighting hit around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. Fire officials told News 12 that they aren't sure whether the lighting hit the house directly, or indirectly through a tree.
The homeowner said it sounded like a bomb, and then she and her son smelled smoke. Firefighters extinguished the fire in the attic, News 12 says.
