Tarrytown, Scarsdale Youths Serve Tennis Fundraiser In Hawthorne

HAWTHORNE, N.Y. -- Solaris Racquet Club in Hawthorne will host the inaugural Kids Serving Hope tennis fundraiser to benefit Bash Cancer and Little Angels in China – two charities founded by 9-year-old friends from Scarsdale and Tarrytown.

Fueled by their passion for tennis, Sebastian ‘Bash’ Oré of Tarrytown and Hiroshi Hebner of Scarsdale aim to inspire children in Westchester to join them for an afternoon of fun at the Kids Serving Hope event that will raise funds to benefit the pediatric oncology department at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore and various orphanages in the Zhuhai region in China from 3-6 p.m. Sunday.

In 2014, Bash began raising funds to help with his grandfather's cancer treatments. Bash’s maternal grandfather lost his battle with cancer this year.

“All I can say is that I miss my grandpa since he passed away from cancer. So, in his honor I will continue to raise money to help kids BASH cancer!” said Bash.

Hiroshi Hebner and sister Jacqui started Little Angels in China in 2014 with a mission to help needy children in China with food, clothes and toys. Both Jacqui and Hiroshi were moved to take action after meeting orphaned children during one of their frequent visits to China because, as Hiroshi often says, “every child deserves a chance.”

The Kids Serving Hope event is open to the public and will include food, clothing, jewelry and various other vendors, in addition to tennis demonstrations and games for children and a tennis round robin competition for adults.

Solaris Sport & Racquet Club is at 5 Browns Lane, Hawthorne.
