NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – Squiggy’s Dugout in New Rochelle is one of thousands of comic book shops around the world celebrating the biggest day in the comic book industry and comic art form with Free Comic Book Day Saturday, May 2, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

On Free Comic Book Day, more than 5.6 million comic books will be given away by participating stores, introducing as many people as possible to the wonders of comic books.

“The wide array of comic books being published today ensures that readers of all ages — children, teens and adults — can find something appropriate that will stir their imaginations,” said Rob Williams, owner of Squiggy’s.

Celebrating its 14th year, Free Comic Book Day has proven to be a smashing success, spreading the word that comics are a terrific read.

Regular updates, information about comic books and a list of participating publishers and their free comics can be found here.

Any leftover books from Squiggy’s will be given away for the rest of the week to coincide with their yearly Thank You sale.

Squiggy’s Dugout is at 237A Main St., New Rochelle.
