New Rochelle Library Announces Upcoming Events

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Here is a list of upcoming events and news from the New Rochelle Public Library:

  • A concert billed 'Sing Your Heart Out, Again!' will take place on Thursday, at 7 p.m. at the Ossie Davis Theater. The culminating, grand finale performance of the singing workshop "Sing Your Heart Out, Again!" will showcase the talent of the program's aspiring singers, with the guidance of music instructor and aficionado Robert Puleo. The concert, "This Is America," is a tribute to America's musical heritage and will include such favorites as John Lennon's "Imagine," and Pete Seeger's "Turn, Turn, Turn," as well as a musical theater medley. The concert is free. 
  • BID Family Market Day with Louie Miranda will take place on Saturday, June 18, at 11 a.m. The BID Grand Market is open on Saturdays through Oct. 29, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The featured family-friendly live performance will be the "El Louie!" Show. Louie Miranda returns with another performance filled with live music, games, and movement. The event is free. 
  • New titles in fiction include: "Jazz Moon" Joe Okonkwo "Edenland" Wallace King "Vexation Lullaby" Justin Tussing "Margaret The First" Danielle Dutton "Haunted Destiny" Heather Graham "738 Days" Stacey Kade "City of Jackals" Parker Bilal "Not Dead Enough" Warren C. Easley "Hell's Gate" Bill Schutt and J.R. Finch 
  • In the Lumen Winter Gallery The New Rochelle Art Association's 33rd Annual Jules Bauer Award Show is open through June 23.
  • The Main Library will be closed on Sundays through June, July and August.
