NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Celebrate Black Cat Appreciation Week with the New Rochelle Humane Society on Saturday, Aug. 16, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at its shelter.

The shelter is at 70 Portman Road.

Adopt a black or black and white cat and receive 50 percent off the adoption fee.
