Fledgling Tarrytown Jazz Club To Ring In New Year With Fundraiser

TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- The Jazz Forum hopes to strike a chord with generous music fans by holding a New Year’s Eve fundraiser, the fledgling Tarrytown club said.

It is seeking tax-deductible donations to support its mission of opening this spring and is rewarding donors with dining and dancing at the club at 1 Dixon Lane on Thursday, Dec. 31.

Doors open at 8 p.m. Music sets are at 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. A buffet dinner will be catered by the restaurant. Wine, beer, and champagne will be served. The food will be catered by the Tarry Tavern in Tarrytown

Performing will be Mark Morganelli & The Jazz Forum All-Stars Special Edition featuring Houston Person, tenor sax; Vic Juris, guitar; Ray Drummond, bass; NEA Jazz Master Jimmy Cobb, drums; and special guest vocalist Kate Baker.

Seating will be limited to 100 guests.

A list of the donor levels that will get jazz lovers into the party, and more:

  • Fan ($150): One admission to New Year’s Eve Party.
  • Enthusiast ($250): One admission to New Year’s Eve Party; two music cover charges waived during the club’s opening year; five CDs selected by Mark Morganelli; and acknowledgement on the club’s website.
  • Aficionado ($500): One admission for New Year’s Eve Party; four music cover charges waived during the club’s opening year; 10 CDs selected by Mark Morganelli; acknowledgement on the club’s website; recognition from the stage at the party; and a complimentary bottle of champagne.
