The City of New Rochelle’s Retail Business Registration Program requires annual renewals. All non-retail businesses in New Rochelle are also encouraged to register.

Businesses can renew/ register online here, in English or Spanish, with a valid e-mail address.

Registered businesses will become part of the city’s business directory, and will receive emergency alerts as well as notification of business-related events and opportunities.

“In 2016, registered businesses have attended free business education sessions, participated in promotional events like our first city-wide FoodFest Restaurant Week and the Holiday Shopping Guide, and received valuable communications about business resources available to help grow their businesses,” said Business Ambassador Lisa Davis.

There is no fee to register, however, failure to register or renew on time could result in a penalty of $50 per month, up to a maximum of $350.

Once registration is complete businesses will be issued a Retail Business Registration Certificate for display.

A retail business is defined as any for-profit commercial operation or occupation, of any kind that is engaged in the sale of goods or services that are subject to New York state sales tax. The registration requirement includes the retail store component of any not-for-profit entity.

Additional information is available on the city’s website at  or by contacting Lisa Davis at 914.654.2189 or ldavis@newrochelleny.com. As Business Ambassador, Davis encourages questions and ideas about helping businesses be more successful in New Rochelle.
