NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- The New Rochelle Youth Bureau will be accepting applications from New Rochelle youth for summer positions.
The Network Youth Leadership Program, which attempts to provide youth, ages 14 years to 17, with job readiness skills training and actual work experience, will be operating for six weeks during July and August. Payments in the amount of $175 per week are based on 20 hours a week program participation. Fifty-five percent of the program participants must meet income eligbility guidelines; 45 percent of the program participants aren't required to meet any income guidelines. Funded in part by the local Community Development Block Grant program through the Department of Development.
Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Summer Youth Employment Program will employ income eligible youth 14 to 18 years old). The program will operate for six weeks. Rate of pay is $8.75 per hour, five hours per day. All youth munst meet TANF income guidelines. Funded by the Westchester/Putnam Local Workforce Investment Board.
Where applicable, the Potential Candidates Summer Internship Program will employ eight youths, 18 years to 21 years old, with specific internships to assigned government departments or local community-based agencies/programs. The program operates for six weeks during July and August. Rate of pay is $8.75 per hour, five hours per day. No income eligibility required. Funded by the New York State Office of Children & Family Service and contingent upon state funding.
Only one child per household will be considered. for any program.
