A crash that caused the closure of two lanes of a stretch of the Long Island Expressway caused gridlock near the Nassau-Suffolk border.
The crash happened eastbound at Exit 40, Nassau County Police said just before 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4.
Both the middle and right lanes were closed being cleared.
