Peter King Says He Won't Seek Reelection To Congress

Peter King, a 14-term U.S. Congressman representing parts of Long Island, became the latest House Republican to announce their retirements.

King said in a statement Monday morning, Nov. 11 that he won't see a 15th two-year term.

King said his poll numbers remain high, he has already raised $1 million in campaign funds, but after 28 years of spending four days a week in Washington, D.C., it is time to end the weekly commute and be home” in Seaford.

King, one of President Trump's strongest allies in Congress, said he plans to vote against Trump’s impeachment and will support the president’s bid for a second term in 2020.
