Teen Charged In Shooting At Long Island Home, Police Say

A teen has been apprehended as part of an ongoing investigation into shots fired on the property of a Long Island residence.

Suffolk County resident Adrian Johnson, age 18, of Riverhead was arrested on Monday, Nov. 29 by the Riverhead Police in conjunction with the US Marshals Service for the October incident.

According to police, another man has already been arrested in connection with the incident in which shots were fired at a home on Sounds Avenue in Calverton.

In addition to Johnson, Demario Weston Jr., age 19, of Riverhead, has been charged and is being held at the Suffolk County Correctional Facility, police said.

Johnson was charged with: 

  • Attempted assault
  • Criminal possession of a weapon
  • Criminal possession of a firearm
  • Reckless endangerment

He is being held for arraignment and remains in jail, police said. 

At the time of the incident, Riverhead police said a dispute involving a resident and three people in a black sedan led to gunshots fired from the vehicle that struck and damaged the kitchen of the home as well as four parked vehicles.
