Detectives from the Nassau County Police Department said that at 3:13 a.m. on Monday, May 10, two men entered a store on Uniondale Avenue in Uniondale, two unknown suspects entered the location, with one brandishing a “large butcher-style knife.”
Police said that one of the suspects approached a 22-year-old employee who was stocking shelves, demanding that he sit down and put his hands on his head, to which he complied, “in fear for his safety.”
While the knife-wielding suspect was dealing with the employee, the second suspect walked directly to the cash register and took out an undisclosed amount of cash, police said. The two then fled on foot westbound on Hempstead Boulevard.
No injuries were reported.
The first suspect armed with a knife was described as a man with a medium build wearing blue-colored surgical gloves, a red-colored full-face ski mask, gray-colored hooded style sweatshirt, black-colored pants, and sneakers.
